Caffeine: Coffee is rich in anti-oxidants compounds that are protective to the brain. Caffeine acts synergistically with these antioxidant compounds to promote brain health. Decaf does not work.
Cinnamon: Cinnamon has been used as an anti-diabetic agent in traditional Indian medicine. It contains an array of antioxidant compounds. It helps to lower blood sugars, improve lipid profiles and reduce systemic inflammation. Ceylon cinnamon is the preferred choice.
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT): these are a group of fatty acids that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier unlike longer chains. Coconut oil is the most common MCT food source. It can provide energy to the brain when glucose is scarce.

1 cup of caffeinated black coffee
1/2 TBSP coconut oil
1/4 tsp cinnamon
small sprinkle of cocoa powder
